Do I need to pay for the AI separately?

No. PocketAI uses your existing logged-in sessions on DeepSeek, Claude, ChatGPT etc. — the same accounts you already use in a browser. If you use Groq fallback and hit the free tier limit, you'd need a Groq API key, but the free tier is very generous for personal use.

Does my PC need to be on?

For the full multi-provider experience, yes — your PC runs the Chrome extension that controls the AI browser tabs. But if your PC is off, PocketAI automatically falls back to Groq, so you always have AI available on your phone.

Is my data private?

Yes. The relay runs on your own PC — your messages travel directly from your phone to your PC. Nothing is stored on or routed through any third-party server. It's as private as using the AI website directly on your own computer.

What Android version do I need?

Android 8.0 (Oreo) or above — which covers almost every Android phone made in the last 6+ years. The overlay permission (Draw over other apps) is required, and setup includes walking you through enabling it.

How does the setup work?

Complete setup over WhatsApp. Android app installed, Chrome extension configured, relay tested live. Typically takes under 30 minutes. You pay only after it's working.

Can I use it on iOS?

Not currently — iOS doesn't allow floating overlay apps the way Android does. PocketAI is Android only for now.
